Michiel Louwerse

Michiel Louwerse is Manager Digital Products at Damen Digital Solutions, where he is committed to increasing the value of Damen's digital proposition through the company's Industrial IoT platform, Damen Triton. With a background in Industrial Engineering and Management, Michiel began his maritime career in 2004, specializing in Marine Electronics and Automation.

Over the past 20+ years, he has held a wide range of roles across sales management, supply chain and procurement, project management, and general management, both at shipyard suppliers and, since 2015, at Damen Shipyards. This broad experience gives him a deep understanding of the diverse needs of stakeholders across the maritime ecosystem.

For the past four years, Michiel has been a driving force within Damen Digital Solutions, helping shape the product strategy and elevate the digital offering. A key part of this work includes the development of cybersecurity products and services that enhance vessel resilience, with a focus on anomaly detection, threat isolation, and secure data flows, all built on the robust foundation of Damen Triton.
