Maximilian Schroer

Maximilian Schroer is a maritime decarbonization expert with over a decade of experience in energy transition, regulations, and sustainability. Previously responsible for CII, EU ETS, and FuelEU compliance at A.P. Moller-Maersk, he implemented compliance strategies that saved over €200M in CII compliance costs.

His expertise includes leading retrofit projects for vessels and providing energy efficiency advisory services at PwC. As a co-CEO of BetterSea, Maximilian drives the implementation of the FuelEU Maritime Regulation. BetterSea issued the World's First FuelEU Index based on actual trades that were facilitated via the BetterSea Platform that also features the Pooling Marketplace.
