The Maritime Technologies Forum (MTF), comprising leading classification societies and flag state administrations, aims to bridge the gap between technology and regulatory progress. Safe fuel with the Next Generation Air Lubrication. The Damen Air Cavity System (DACS) is a patented Air Lubrication System (ALS) that was originally developed at TU Delft and commercialised by Damen Shipyard Group.

Ship owners and shipyards can reduce the environmental impact of their operations in multiple ways. Hull management has emerged as an effective tactic to minimize fuel consumption, lower emissions and enhance overall vessel performance. At the forefront of these advancements are low-friction hull coatings combined with electrostatic application process. This powerful combination contributes to reduced fuel consumption and lower greenhouse gas emissions while enabling sustainable drydock and maintenance practices.

Designing for the Carbon Price: A Practical Decarbonisation Playbook for Retrofits and Newbuilds

The combined force of FuelEU Maritime and the EU ETS has rewired fleet economics within Europe. Importantly, FuelEU functions as a regional carbon-price instrument; if the IMO’s mid-term GFI enters into force, it would supersede FuelEU for overlapping scope, shifting compliance from an EU regime to a single global framework. These aren’t separate boxes to tick but a system that puts a rising, real cost on every tonne of CO₂e.

This talk distils our decarbonisation playbook into a concise, practical framework owners, yards and financiers can apply—starting from a blank page, defining operational, commercial and physical boundaries, and avoiding "bolt-on” fixes that store up costly redesigns later. The Rising Stars Pavilion, supported by Hansa and PortXL,  is a dedicated area for Start-Ups that contribute to a smarter, cleaner or safer maritime future. It aims to be a stepping stone for young entrepreneurs to kickstart their career in a global maritime environment.

A dedicated area in hall 6 where frontrunners in digital transition and smart connectivity are concentrated and can get connected most effectively. Think of IT, IoT, AI, VR, ship-to-shore data services, autonomous shipping, unmanned systems, integrated ship design, digital twins, cyber security, intelligent sensors, robotics, additive manufacturing or other forms of digitalisation.
