SRC Group receives approval in principle for Methanol Superstorage solution

A new space-efficient retrofit methanol storage solution from Europort exhibitor SRC Group has received approval in principle from Lloyd’s Register.

While renewably sourced methanol has significant potential to contribute to shipping’s green transition, its low energy density compared to heavy fuel oil can lead to major storage issues.

SRC’s innovative Methanol Superstorage solution, which can be retrofitted with minimal impact on general arrangements, overcomes this by using 'Sandwich Plate System Technology’ to boost volume by up to 85%.
