A safe and hospitable visit

Updated on 21 July 2021

We look forward to a successful anniversary edition of the Europort exhibition, where safety and successful networking will go hand in hand. Of course, we understand that you - just like we do - keep a close eye on all developments regarding COVID-19. We are happy to inform you about the current situation.

The wellbeing of our exhibitors, visitors and other stakeholders have our highest priority. We are carefully monitoring the pandemic developments and stay in close contact with responsible authorities. We constantly adjust our working methods to the actual situation and comply with the guidelines of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the Association for Public Health and Safety (GGD).

Exhibitions as 'flow-through’ locations

An exhibition such as Europort is seen as a 'flow-through’ location. Within the current guidelines, there may be an occupancy of a maximum of 1 person per 5sqm in flow-through locations. This can be compared, for example, to a visit to a store, where you can also walk around freely. Based on this calculation, we could receive 9,000 visitors per day. Both exhibitors and visitors will therefore have ample opportunity to meet each other again, just like previous editions. We expect that the guidelines from governments will be further relaxed in the autumn.

This positive expectation is partly due to the contacts we maintain with the responsible authorities, but also based on the fact that by mid-August all adults in the Netherlands - who wish to do so - will be fully vaccinated. In the countries around us, the vaccination rate is also increasing, which is favourable for the participation of international exhibitors and visitors.

Eager for live events

We are proud and grateful for the trust from the maritime sector. From the contact we maintain with the market, partners and stakeholders, it is clear that there is a lot of interest in meeting each other 'live' again on the exhibition floor, at both international and national level. At the moment, 90% of the stand space has already been reserved and visitor registrations have been running in since it has opened in May.

We are therefore working extensively on the preparations to make it a successful 40th edition of Europort 2021 for exhibitors and visitors, in a safe environment and in accordance with the guidelines applicable at that time.
