Op vrijdag 11 november 2011 om 10:30 uur vindt de zesde workshop van de Advanced Technology Conferences plaats. Deze workshops worden georganiseerd door HME in samenwerking met Ahoy Rotterdam (Europort). Het thema van deze workshop is Workshop Construction vessels: ‘The limits are yet to be made'.
At Europort 2011 on Friday morning November 11 at 1030 the last workshop as part of the Advanced Technology Conferences will be organised by AHOY in cooperation with HME. This workshop has the central theme Construction vessels: ‘The limits are yet to be made’.
Bigger, stronger and multipurpose complex vessels. What are the limits? Ships are used in rough environments and demands on the materials on board and the ships itself are tremendous. Cranes and winches need to be enlarged to be able to take up challenges. New offshore developments such as deep sea mining, wind offshore, and platform dismantling are very promising as new projects though require to go beyond what has been made so far.
During this workshop an inside will be give how the current limits such as size, strength, life time are extended to be able to go beyond the next level of operation requirements from designers point of view.
The Construction Vessels’ Workshop will start with a brief introduction about these complex vessels. This will be followed by a presentation of leading companies such as PPG Marine Protective Coatings, Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam in combination with DEME and others. At the end of the seminar there will be an interactive discussion between the speakers and the audience. In just two hours workshop participants will receive a wealth of information on complex vessels and afterwards they are free to continue enjoying the exhibition with added insight.
Target audience: ship owners / operators in the offshore industry, suppliers and shipyards
